All Dramatics Aside...

Life goes on.  As a matter of fact, CWF Mid-Atlantic is still alive and will indeed put on their 20th Anniversary event, Battlecade XX, on the original date of December 28th.  That's all that has been leaked, no venue announcement or ticket information is available as of today.  Also, no matches have been announced, but I'm certain it will be the biggest year-end event in our company's history.

The company didn't go out of business, folks, they simply did away with their training school/venue.  Cost a lot of money to keep it open and operating and it took its toll over the years over a few of us.  I'm content knowing I'm not actually "out in the cold" as I suggested in the previous post, I'm one of the two that the owner depends on for promotion and live event production.  I don't know for sure, but I imagine that we will run a much small event schedule in 2020, perhaps doing nothing early in the year until spring.  I also imagine that it's possible 1 event a month will be it, we're going back to the days of sponsorships and paid shows, and they require time and effort to promote properly.  Not exactly like running 3 times a month just to pay the rent.

I'm good.  Heck, I'm great.  I have discovered that I can enjoy time at home that would have been wrestling weekends previously, and that makes me enjoy and cherish my time with the company of friends that much more.  Who knows?  I may start going out to dinner after with the boys again and do away with preview pics at 3-4 am following an event anyways.  I'm wide open.

Karen tells me that she is asking off at 5pm on the 28th, I told her to not bother, as I can't sit at home until 5 on nights we wrestle any more, it's going to be an all-day affair again like the old days.  So it's fitting that I will also be renting a car for the last event of the year.  I don't mind so much, but that will be the 16th rental of the 2019 year for wrestling alone.  Hate to think about it now, but I considered it an investment...
